Paul Scruggs

Updated as of 6/26/2022, scouting report written by Alan Lu.
2022 Rankings were finalized on 6/23/22.

Height: 6-4
Weight: 200
College: Xavier
Classification: Fifth-Year Senior
Birthdate: 3/9/1998

Projected Draft Range: 2nd Round to Undrafted

Pros:

Decent scorer off the dribble
Adequate shooter, especially from mid-range
Can post up smaller players
Decent playmaker
Adequate rebounder for his size
Adequate defensive player
Above average athlete

Cons:

Streaky shooter
Needs to improve his ball handling, struggles to go right
Unselfish to a fault
Can be turnover prone
Can be undisciplined defensively
Not an elite athlete
Suffered a knee injury towards the end of the season

Summary:

Paul Scruggs is a tough, gritty playmaker that can score the basketball in a variety of ways.  He is a solid mid-range shooter, and he also can score off the dribble as well as in the post.  He had a solid senior season this year, but he’ll need to make a full recovery from the knee injury he suffered recently, and he currently projects to be a borderline second round candidate for the 2022 draft.
