Assessing Flory Bidunga, Darryn Peterson, and Cameron Carr in the Kansas-Baylor Game

February 17th, 2026

This time around, I took the time to watch an in-conference college basketball game that took place between Kansas and Baylor on January 16th, as it featured several top prospects such as Darryn Peterson, Tounde Yessoufou, Cameron Carr, and Flory Bidunga.  This game did not disappoint. While it was competitive in the first half, Kansas had a big second half showing to get a double-digit win over Baylor.  Here are my thoughts on how they and others fared in this game.

Flory Bidunga scored 23 points, and had 11 rebounds and 5 blocks in Kansas’ 80-62 win over Baylor.

Flory Bidunga had a tremendous showing in his team’s win over Baylor.  He is a very athletic, energetic big man that did a great job of making plays on both ends of the floor.  He showed a knack for throwing down dunks and scoring on strong rolls to the rim, and he would frequently catch lobs and finish plays above the rim to do so.

He also was able to throw a quick pass after catching the ball on a roll, as he found an open shooter to notch an assist.  Bidunga would also set good screens to help get his teammates open driving lanes, and would create scoring opportunities for himself by rolling hard to the rim.

Plus, he also did a great job of rebounding the basketball.  Bidunga also defended very well.  He would swoop in to block a plethora of shots off the dribble, and he would tend to swat them to his teammates to help his team protect the paint.  He also would get his hands on passes to get steals, and he also poked a ball off of an opponent to help force another turnover.

Overall, Flory Bidunga played really well, and he put forth a terrific performance in his team’s win over Baylor.  He is a polished prospect that could make an immediate impact at the next level, and he is a very talented big man that could end up being a lottery pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.

Darryn Peterson also played very well in his team’s win over Baylor.  He had an excellent first half, as his dominant play early on helped set the tone to allow his team cruise to a double-digit win.

Peterson did a great job of scoring the basketball, and he did so in a variety of ways.  He showed a knack for scoring on strong drives to the hoop as well as on mid-range jumpers.  He has a strong pull-up game, and he also can ably post up to score on offense.  His ability to shift gears, finish plays with either hand, and elevate allows him to easily get shots off and score.  Plus, Peterson also did a great job of moving off the ball to get open in order to make quick threes smoothly off the catch.

He also passed and handled the ball well.  He showed a knack for throwing lobs to roll men to notch assists. Also, he was able to get a couple of boards to help chip in on the glass. Peterson also defended well, as he would get his hands on passes to get steals and deflections.

In summary, Darryn Peterson had a strong showing, as he was especially dominant in the first half to help Kansas in this game.  He is a terrific prospect, and he could end up being the top pick of the 2026 draft, as he may have the skills to end up being a superstar in the NBA.

Cameron Carr played well in his team’s tough loss to Kansas.  He is an athletic, skilled swingman that excelled at making plays on offense to help his team when he was on the floor.

He is a skilled scorer that did so in a variety of ways.  He showed the knack for making threes, as he can do so both off the catch and dribble, and he also ran off the ball to make one early on to show he can be a movement shooter.  Carr also showed a decent ability to score off the dribble, and he also threw down a baseline dunk once.  However, he would sometimes tend to rush his shots, which would lead to some misses.

He also passed the ball well.  He generally handled the ball well, but had a ball poked away on a drive to lose it once.  Also, Carr was able to get some boards for his team.  He also played decent defense.  Carr was able to contest a shot off of a drive to force a miss.  However, there was another play where he ended up fouling an opponent on the break another time.

Overall, Carr had a solid game, as he especially excelled on the offensive end.  He is having a very good season this year for Baylor, and he would be a good pick for an NBA team in the mid first round of the 2026 draft.

Tounde Yessoufou had a solid showing in his team’s tough loss to Kansas.  He had a very good first half, as he did a great job of shooting and scoring the basketball in that time frame.  He struggled to consistently make plays in the second half, but he still played well in this game.

Yessoufou showed the knack for scoring on mid-range jumpers, as he has a solid pump fake move, and shooting touch to make shots from that distance.  He also can score smoothly out of the post, and he also shot the three-ball well off the catch early on.  Plus, he also utilized a crafty Euro-step move to score on a drive in transition once.  However, he struggled to consistently make shots, especially from the outside in the second half.

As a playmaker, he looked to be fairly average.  Yessoufou is an unselfish player that will make the extra pass to keep the ball moving, and he was able to net a pair of assists.  There was one play out of the post where he had a ball ripped away from him that led to a turnover.  He threw a hasty dribble handoff pass that a teammate dropped that led to another.

Also, Yessoufou rebounded the ball well.  He was also active defensively, and would use his length and athleticism to stay in front of his man to cut off penetration, but his opponents would tend to make jumpers, anyways.

Overall, Tounde Yessoufou is a very athletic, skilled swingman that can score the basketball in a variety of ways.  He’ll need to be a more consistent outside shooter, but his athleticism, skill set, and two-way potential could enable him to go in the mid to late first round range for the 2026 draft.

Elmarko Jackson also quietly had a good game for Kansas.  He was efficient in making shots, and he was able to make some very solid plays in this game.  He was able to score on a strong drive to the hoop.  He also made a corner three, and managed to catch a lob to score in transition another time.  He also generally passed the ball well.  Jackson is an athletic combo guard that could end up being an effective role player at the NBA level.

All in all, those are my thoughts on how Peterson, Bidunga, Yessoufou, and Carr played in this game.  Thanks for reading.
