Observing Cameron Boozer, Caleb Foster, and Aly Khalifa in the Duke-Louisville Game

Today, I took the time to watch Cameron Boozer and Duke play against Louisville.  The Cardinals were without Mikel Brown Jr., so they entered the game as considerable underdogs (at least in my opinion).  They were surprisingly competitive, as they had a lead at the end of the first half, but Duke had a terrific second half to run away with a double-digit win, due to the standout performances of Cameron Boozer and Caleb Foster, as well as due to the very solid play of Isaiah Evans and Dame Sarr.  Predictably, Duke won the game by double-digits, but it was surprising how long Louisville managed to stay in it. Anyways, here are my thoughts on how they and other various prospects fared in this game, as well as where they may currently stack up as prospects for the NBA.

Cameron Boozer had a tremendous showing in his team’s win over Louisville.  He was excellent as a scorer throughout the game, and he especially was dominant in the second half.  He also played good defense as the game progressed, and he also altered a shot in the post down the stretch to force a key miss. 

He initially struggled on defense early on in the first half, but Boozer was terrific on offense, and he made sound defensive plays as the game wore on.  Specifically, he was automatic as a scorer off the dribble as well as out of the post, and he showed a real knack for getting to the free throw line. Overall, he is a tremendous prospect that played very well, and he will likely be a top 3 pick in the 2026 draft, as he could end up being a star player in the NBA.

Caleb Foster played very well in his team’s win over Louisville.  He had a dominant second half as he was relentless at scoring on strong drives to the hoop, and he also made very good passes and defended well throughout the game.  He would often score in traffic, and he has deft dribble moves that can allow him to score consistently.  Foster had his best game, and he is an athletic, skilled guard that could be a first round pick in the 2026 draft.

Aly Khalifa played really well in his team’s tough loss to Duke.  He did a tremendous job of knocking down three-pointers on offense, and he also scored on a reverse layup in the second half.  Plus, he also made smart passes, and he kept his team in it for most of the way.  He made all six of his shots, which included making five threes, and Khalifa scored 17 points off the bench. Overall, he played a very good game, and he is a smart, skilled big man that could end up being a solid role player in the NBA.

Isaiah Evans played well in his team’s win over Louisville.  He played well on both sides of the ball.  He was a versatile scorer as he would make smooth threes and score on tough, aggressive drives to the hoop.   He also defended well and would get his hands on passes to get steals.  He was a bit streaky with his jump shot, but he is an athletic swingman that has the talent to be a high first round pick in the 2026 draft.

Ryan Conwell had a solid showing in his team’s loss to Duke.  He had a strong first half, as he did a great job of making shots, as he would score on smooth threes and tough drives, and he showcased his shiftiness and versatile scoring skills.  He struggled to make plays in the second half, but he still made a positive impression as a skilled playmaker on offense.  Overall, he is a fleet-footed point guard that can knock down shots and make plays with the ball in his hands, and he is an underrated playmaker that could end up being a solid role player in the NBA.

All in all, those are my thoughts on how Cameron Boozer and other various prospects fared in this game. Thanks for reading.
