Evaluating Tyon Grant-Foster, Braden Huff, and Will Heimbrodt in the Gonzaga-Seattle Overtime Game
January 2nd, 2026

Today, I took the time to watch the Gonzaga Bulldogs play against the Seattle Redhawks in a very competitive, midseason college basketball game that went all the way to overtime. Gonzaga has a couple of skilled big men in Braden Huff and Graham Ike, and Seattle has a pair of talented forwards in Will Heimbrodt and Junseok Yeo. In addition, Gonzaga added a star swingman in Tyon Grant-Foster that has really elevated their team. Seattle came in as considerable underdogs, but they were able to force the game to overtime, but Gonzaga was too much for them, as their talent and sustained energy levels helped power them to get the victory. Here are my thoughts on how Grant-Foster and other various prospects fared in this game.

Tyon Grant-Foster had a strong showing in his team’s win over Seattle. He especially played well in the second half and overtime, as his relentless drives to the basket and tenacious defense helped secure his team the victory.
Grant-Foster is a very athletic swingman that would tend to score on herky-jerky drives to the hoop. He has a good first step, knows how to change speeds, and is a master of being able to take on the contact to frequently score in traffic. While he isn’t quite known for his outside shot, he was able to make a smooth three-pointer off of a dribble handoff, which really seemed to open things up for him offensively. Plus, he excelled at scoring on hustle plays.
In addition, Grant-Foster is a rangy defender that did a tremendous job of blocking shots, and he especially showed a knack for swatting jump shots to prevent opponents from getting easy shots off. He also was able to poke a ball away to get a steal. Plus, he also showed a satisfactory ability to rebound the basketball.
Overall, Tyon Grant-Foster had a tremendous game, and he was very impactful on both ends of the floor to help his team get the win. He scored 19 points on 7 of 9 shooting, made a three, and he also had 5 rebounds and 5 blocks to go along with that. He is mostly an NBA ready player, he just needs to be a more reliable outside shooter, and that would really solidify his already solid game. He is a very underrated prospect, and he could end up being a solid player in the NBA.
Braden Huff also played very well in his team’s win over Seattle. He is a skilled, mobile big man that showed a knack for making smooth mid-range jumpers off high post, pick-and-rolls, and he also made a couple of spot-up threes off the catch to showcase his range. He even ran off the ball to make a three to showcase his ability to be a movement shooter. In addition, he also can score on turnaround jump hooks and dunks down low, and he would also score on hustle plays.
He also did a good job of passing out of the post to find open shooters. He was also able to chip in to help his team get a few boards, and he was an active defender that helped his team get some steals and blocks.
Overall, Huff had a strong showing in his team’s win over Seattle. He is a talented prospect, as he is a seven-footer that can really shoot the basketball, and he could be a solid role player for an NBA team at the next level.
Will Heimbrodt had a solid showing in his team’s tough overtime loss to Gonzaga. He is a talented forward that has an intriguing stat line, on the surface, it reads like a standard 3 and D prospect. However, he also blocks almost three shots per game, which is terrific at the collegiate level, especially for a player his size. That combined with his size and shooting percentages made me wonder about his prospects for the NBA, so I decided to tune in to watch this game, as his three-point shooting and shot blocking prowess makes for an intriguing profile.
Visually, he didn’t seem to do anything spectacular, but Heimbrodt is a mobile, fundamentally sound player that consistently made solid plays on both sides of the ball. He can score on tough, patient drives to the basket, and he has a crafty pump fake. He was able to make a dribble handoff three off the catch.
Also, he displayed decent playmaking skills. He is a fairly good passer that can find teammates on the move and has solid court vision. However, he would sometimes struggle to protect the basketball when heavily pressured, and he would sometimes throw errant passes that would lead to turnovers.
Heimbrodt also did a terrific job of rebounding the basketball. He also defended well, and he would get his hands on balls to help his team get steals and deflections.
Overall, Heimbrodt is a skilled, mobile forward that made some solid plays on both ends of the floor. He isn’t the flashiest player, but his ability to make plays and very solid season stat line may make him a worthwhile candidate for the mid to late second round of the 2026 draft.
Graham Ike had a strong showing in his team’s overtime win over Seattle. He was a tremendous force in the post, and he scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to help Gonzaga get the victory.
Ike did a very good job of scoring in the post. He is a strong, mobile post player that showed deft scoring touch, as he would use a series of fakes and use solid footwork to score on jump hooks and stepthrough moves. Plus, he also showed that he can score on strong drives to the basket, and he can score on hustle plays in traffic. He also generally passed the ball well, and he was able to pass out of a double team once.
Also, Ike did a very good job of rebounding the basketball. He was active defensively and would contest shots when in position, but sometimes he would be out of position, which would lead him to occasionally give up open jump shots, or to commit fouls other times.
Overall, Graham Ike played very well in his team’s overtime win against Seattle. He has a game that is excellent for the collegiate level. But at the NBA level, he’ll be matched up against taller, longer athletes, so he’ll need to add a reliable outside shot to his arsenal. Still, he is a tenacious player that has a knack for being productive, so he may be able to find a way to be an effective role player in the NBA.
Junseok Yeo also had some really solid moments in his team’s tough loss to Gonzaga. He’s a former Gonzaga player that transferred to Seattle, and he played quite well in regulation. He is an athletic, lanky forward that showed off a surprising outside shooting touch, and he shot the three-ball with brimming confidence that has done wonders for his game. Right now, this may be his signature game as a draftable prospect for the NBA.
Yeo did a good job of making the three-ball in this game. He was able to make a series of smooth three-pointers, and he also was able to pull up to knock one down from beyond the arc. Despite not having ideal shooting percentages so far, Yeo is a confident shotmaker that has shown the project ability to be a three-point shooter at the NBA level. He also was able to use a crafty pump fake to draw free throws on a put back.
He also was able to make a surprising behind-the-back pass (after nearly losing the ball) on the break to get a late assist. However, Yeo struggled to consistently handle the basketball, as he would tend to get balls stolen away when pressured, and he also would sometimes collide into defenders and be called for committing offensive fouls.
Also, he was able to get a few boards to help chip in on the glass, and there was one such play where Yeo was able to leap up high to emphatically grab an offensive board. He also played satisfactory defense. Yeo would get his hands on passes to get steals and deflections, and he would use his length, athleticism, and verticality to successfully challenge shots when in position. Sometimes though, he would struggle to defend quicker or stronger players off the dribble, which would lead him to allow scores.
Overall, Yeo is a talented, but still developing prospect that had an interesting game of highs and lows against Gonzaga. He still needs to be a more consistent outside shooter and refine his overall game, but he is an intriguing long-term prospect that could project to be a versatile role player in the NBA if he can continue to trend upwards and progress at the collegiate level.
Mario Saint-Supery didn’t have a great game in his team’s win over Seattle, as he was held scoreless off the bench. He struggled to get into a rhythm and had trouble making threes or scoring on drives to the hoop. He did showcase solid court vision, as he can make quick reads and passes off the dribble, and he also is an active defender that will contest shots when he is in position. Overall, this wasn’t a very good showcase game for him, but Saint-Supery is an agile, skilled playmaker that could project into a game-managing backup point guard role at the NBA level.
John Christofilis did a great job of making threes in this game, especially in the first half. He was instrumental in keeping Seattle in the game, and while he didn’t showcase other skills, his jump shot is his calling card, and that could enable him to carve out a solid playing career in professional basketball.
All in all, those are my thoughts on how Grant-Foster, Huff, Ike, Heimbrodt, Yeo, and others fared in this game. Thanks for reading.
