Patrick Baldwin Jr. is an athletic, skilled forward that can shoot and score the basketball. He is an unselfish player that shows some high basketball IQ when he’s playing well, and he is a rangy defender that can play shutdown defense when he is dialed in. Baldwin can be a terrific shooter when he gets in a rhythm, and he has a lot of range on his shot. He can score in bunches, and he plays so effortlessly that he can make difficult plays look easy.
On the downside, he sometimes can be unfocused defensively. He’s been rather inconsistent as a shooter, which has hurt his shooting percentages so far. Still, Baldwin is a very talented forward who possesses a good blend of size, athleticism, shooting skills, and upside, and he is very much a candidate that could go in the lottery in the 2022 draft.
