Country: New Zealand
Professional Team: Southland Sharks
Classification: International ‘02
Birthdate: 6/11/2002

Projected Draft Range: 2nd Round to Undrafted

Pros:

Decent shooter
Adequate scorer off the dribble
Excels at scoring on off-ball motion plays
Decent playmaker
Decent rebounder for his size
Above average athlete

Cons:

Streaky shooter
Lacks an elite first step off the dribble
Struggles to score in traffic
Can gamble too much defensively
Not an elite athlete
Not a true point guard, but is undersized to play the two

Summary:

Mojave King is a skilled scoring combo guard that can make shots in a variety of ways.  He is a talented shooter that excels at knocking down shots off the catch and can also run off screens, and he also is an unselfish player that can set up scores for his teammates.  He will need to improve his defense, and he may need to show that he can effectively run the point at higher levels.  He didn’t play much in the NBL during the 2020-21 season, and he struggled to shoot or play well in limited playing time. Recently, he decided to sign with the Southland Sharks to play in the NBL New Zealand for next season. Currently, he projects to be a borderline second round candidate in the 2023 draft.
