Kofi Cockburn

Updated as of 12/27/2020, scouting report written by Alan Lu.

Height: 7-0
Weight: 285
College: Illinois
Classification: Sophomore
Birthdate: 9/1/1999

Projected Draft Range: 2nd Round to Undrafted

Pros:

Strong finisher around the basket
Fairly good low post scorer
Excels at scoring on the move
Very good rebounder
Decent shot blocker
Above average athlete
Great size to play the center position

Cons:

Needs to improve his face-up game
Must extend his shooting range
Needs to improve his free throw shooting
Needs to improve his playmaking skills
Not an elite shot blocker
Struggles to guard quicker players

Summary:

Kofi Cockburn is a strong, mobile center that can get points and rebounds in the paint.  He is a bruising, old school type of big man that teams can feed post touches to, and he also can finish plays above the rim.  He also can grab plenty of rebounds.  He will need to improve his jump shot and show NBA teams that he can guard quicker players in space, but he has been a solid player on a very good Illinois team, and he is a second round prospect for the 2021 draft.
