Summary:
John Butler is a very athletic, energetic big man that played his freshman season at Florida State. He’s a good shooter that thrives at knocking down outside shots, in particular threes off the catch. He also is a solid defender that can block shots and guard opponents out on the perimeter, and he’s shown the potential to be able to guard multiple positions.
On the other hand, he’s very skinny and he will need to get stronger and add significantly more muscle to his frame. He’ll also need to improve his free throw shooting. Butler is an intriguing prospect whose blend of size, skill set, and upside could make him a sleeper pick for an NBA team in the second round of the 2022 draft.
