Height: 6-3
Weight: 175
College: Rhode Island
Classification: Senior
Birthdate: 5/10/1997
Projected Draft Range: 2nd Round to Undrafted
Pros:
Decent shooter
Adequate scorer off the dribble
Adequate playmaker
Adequate defender
Solid athlete
Cons:
Can struggle to score in traffic
Can be too scoring focused on offense
Needs to improve his rebounding
May struggle to guard more athletic players
Old for a draft prospect, may have limited upside
Summary:
Jeff Dowtin is an athletic, skilled playmaker that had a solid collegiate career at Rhode Island. He is a player that can do a little bit of everything, and he also helped lead his team to get to two NCAA tournament appearances. On the other hand, he didn’t seem to stand out in any one skill. Right now, he projects to be a borderline second round candidate for the 2020 draft, and in a favorable scenario, he could perhaps project into a backup point guard role in the NBA.
