Pros:
Good scorer off the dribble
Good shooter, especially from deep
Can post up smaller players
Adequate playmaker
Good athlete
Versatile player that can play either backcourt position
Cons:
Can be careless on offense, which can lead to turnovers
Can gamble too much defensively
Played in a zone defensive scheme
Not a true point guard, but is undersized to play the two
Summary:
Jaylen Nowell is a skilled combo guard that can score the basketball in a variety of ways, and he also is an above average facilitator on offense. He can play either backcourt position, and he has had a solid sophomore season.
On the other hand, he is a bit undersized to play out on the wing and played in a zone defensive scheme, so he will need to adjust to playing in a man-to-man defense at the next level. Right now, Nowell may be a second round prospect for the upcoming draft.
