Garrison Brooks

Updated as of 8/4/2020, scouting report written by Alan Lu.

Height: 6-9
Weight: 235
College: North Carolina
Classification: Senior
Birthdate: 6/29/1999

Projected Draft Range: 2nd Round to Undrafted

Pros:

Solid finisher around the basket
Good low post scorer
Adequate mid-range shooter
Excels at scoring on the move
Adequate playmaker for his size
Decent rebounder
Adequate defender
Solid athlete
Solid motor

Cons:

Can struggle to score in traffic
Needs to improve his free throw shooting
Can be careless on offense, which can lead to turnovers
Not an elite rebounder
Does not block enough shots
Can have lapses defensively
May be a bit undersized to play inside

Summary:

Garrison Brooks is an athletic, energetic big man that can score in the post, and he also is an underrated passer for a player his size.  He has a solid set of low post moves that he can use to score, and he also can make some mid-range jump shots.  He will need to improve his rebounding and will need to be a more disciplined defender on a consistent basis, but he is a skilled big man that could be a second round pick in the 2021 draft.
