Evaluating Tre Johnson, Zvonimir Ivisic, and Trevon Brazile in the Texas-Arkansas Overtime Game
March 4th, 2025
By Alan Lu
This time around, I took the time to watch Texas’ 6-6 freshman swingman, Tre Johnson play in an overtime game against Arkansas that took place on February 26th. He is an athletic, sharpshooting swingman that has been steadily climbing up draft boards recently, as some of the draft analysts have him slated in the top 5 range, and he scored 39 points and made 7 threes in his team’s tough loss to Arkansas. It also was another opportunity to watch some of the other prospects, as Zvonimir Ivisic, Trevon Brazile, Karter Knox, and D.J. Wagner also played well. Here are my thoughts on how Johnson and other various prospects fared, as well as where they may currently stack up as prospects for the NBA.

Tre Johnson turned in a strong showing in his team’s tough overtime loss to Arkansas. He did a great job of shooting and scoring the basketball, especially from beyond the arc, and he is an excellent marksman that can make a bunch of tough shots effortlessly.
Johnson shot the ball very well, especially from downtown, and he was terrific at making threes in this game. He can run quickly to get the ball in order to make threes on the move, and he also excelled at making them off the catch and dribble. He also was able to make a very impressive, step-back corner three from long distance. Plus, he also showed a solid ability to score off the dribble. Not only can he make outside shots off the dribble, but he would score on tough drives to the basket in traffic. He has a good first step, and he can quickly get past his man to score and get free throws. On the downside, he would sometimes take contested, rushed shots that would lead to some misses.
Also, Johnson showed off solid playmaking skills. He would often throw patient, drive and kick passes to find the open man, and he made a good read and threw a shovel pass to a teammate ahead on the break to notch an early assist. He can make passes off the dribble as well as find teammates on the move, and he can throw accurate passes even when pressured. He also was able to throw an accurate lob pass to a teammate in transition. On the downside, sometimes he would throw hasty, inaccurate passes that would get intercepted, which led to some turnovers.
On the other hand, Johnson only was able to get one rebound in this game. He also played adequate defense in this game. Johnson was able to run in to get his hands on a pass to help his team get a steal. He also poked a ball away to nearly get another, and he also contested a step-back midrange jumper to force a miss. On the downside, he had some trouble defending in one-on-one situations as well as on screen situations, as he would sometimes take bad angles and play too aggressively other times, which would lead him to commit fouls and allow scores.
In general, Tre Johnson played very well in his team’s loss to Arkansas, and he is a very talented shot maker that has shown why he is one of the best prospects that will likely be in the 2025 draft class. He is a superb scorer that can make shots from anywhere, and he could end up being a top 5 pick, as he could end up being a star player similar to Miami Heat guard, Tyler Herro in the NBA.

Zvonimir Ivisic had a strong showing in his team’s overtime win over Texas. He is a skilled, mobile big man that has a solid set of offensive skills, and he turned in a very solid all-around performance to help lead his team to victory. He shot the ball very well, especially from beyond the arc, and he particularly excelled as a spot-up shooter off the catch. He also showed off some low post scoring skills. He caught an open pass to score inside, and he also managed to use a drop step to score on a powerful dunk once. However, he tended to miss on jump hooks and also missed on a runner, as he had some trouble scoring when he would look to score off the dribble.
He also showcased satisfactory playmaking skills. Ivisic is an unselfish player that will make the extra pass to find the open man, and he also was able to drive to the hoop and make a no-look drop-off pass to a cutter to notch an early assist. He can make timely passes. However, he also was a bit turnover prone. He would sometimes throw inaccurate passes that would go astray, and he also dropped a catchable pass another time.
Also, Ivisic did a decent job of rebounding the basketball. He also played satisfactory defense in this game. He would rotate to contest drives to force misses, and Ivisic is an active defender that will look to help his team protect the paint. He also intercepted an errant pass to help his team get a steal. However, sometimes he would be late on his rotations and struggle to stay with his man, which would lead him to commit fouls and allow scores.
In summary, Ivisic played well, and he especially excelled on the offensive end to help his team get the overtime win in this game. He is a skilled, mobile big man that can score the basketball in a variety of ways and has underrated passing skills, and he could be a very good find for an NBA team, especially in the late first to the second round range of the 2025 draft, as he could end up being a solid role player in the NBA.

Trevon Brazile also played very well in his team’s overtime win over Texas. He is an athletic, skilled big man that excelled at making plays on both ends of the floor. He showed a knack for making smooth spot-up threes off the catch, and he also thrived at scoring on hustle plays on the move. He showed a knack for scoring off of cuts, and he also caught a lob to score on a high-flying alley-oop dunk. Plus, he also ran in to score on an athletic tip slam after leaping up to get an offensive rebound.
He also displayed satisfactory playmaking skills. He is an unselfish player that would look to find the open man to get assists. However, he dropped a catchable pass that led to a turnover. He also was called for a push off another time, even though the opponent got away with holding him first, which seemed to provoke him into pushing him away, which led to an offensive foul and a turnover.
Also, Brazile did a decent job of rebounding the basketball. He also defended very well. Brazile was able to block a shot off of a drive to a teammate due to possessing good length, timing, and athleticism, and he also would use his length and positioning to contest a variety of shots to force misses. On one play though, he rotated but got beat off the dribble, which led his team to commit a foul as a result.
Overall, Brazile had a strong showing to help lead his team to a win over Texas, he is an athletic, skilled big man that could be a solid pick for an NBA team in the late first to the second round range of the 2025 draft. He’ll need to be more assertive on offense, but he has a variety of skills that could allow him to be a solid role player in the NBA.
Karter Knox also played very well in his team’s overtime win over Texas. He is an athletic, energetic swingman that showed off versatile scoring skills, and he played well on both ends of the floor.
He showed a knack for driving hard to the basket to consistently score and get free throws on strong moves to the hoop. Plus, Knox was able to run quickly off of a ball screen to make a quick three-pointer. Knox really excelled at scoring off the dribble, and he also was able to make a quick three early on to help get things going for him on offense.
Knox showcased satisfactory playmaking skills. He is an unselfish player that will move the ball to find the open man, and he also moves well off the ball on offense. Plus, he also set a solid off-ball screen to help get his teammate an open shot on a cut to set up a score for him. On the downside, sometimes he would over-dribble, which would lead him to commit ball-handling turnovers.
In this game, he only grabbed a pair of defensive rebounds, as he didn’t get many boards for a player his size. He also defended well. Knox would use his length, positioning, and timing to contest outside shots to force misses. On one play though, he got beat off the dribble, which led his teammate to rotate to commit a foul that time.
Overall, Knox had a solid showing to help his team get a win over Texas. He is an athletic, skilled swingman that may have considerable upside. He’ll need to be more assertive on offense in games, but he projects well into a 3 and D role for the NBA, and he could end up being a solid pick for an NBA team, especially if he is available for them to select in the second round range of the 2025 draft.
D.J. Wagner also played well to help lead Arkansas to an overtime win over Texas. He did a great job of making shots, but he also was quite turnover prone on offense.
Wagner showed a solid ability to score off the dribble. He was able to score on a smooth, contested running floater early on, and he also showed a knack for contorting his body and drawing fouls upon his defenders to frequently get to the free throw line. Plus, he also shot the three-ball well, as he showed that he can make threes both off the catch and dribble. He was able to run off the ball to get it on a dribble handoff to make a quick three early on. Plus, he also was able to make a quick mid-range runner while getting fouled, and he also managed to score on a backdoor cut. However, Wagner struggled to consistently score when he would take shots from the mid-range.
As a playmaker, he looked to be fairly average in this game. He is an unselfish player that can make entry passes as well as passes on the move to set up scores for his teammates. On the downside, he tended to throw hasty passes that would get intercepted, and he also would sometimes over-dribble that also would lead to turnovers.
Also, he was able to get a pair of defensive boards to help chip in on the glass. Wagner also defended very well, as he would contest corner threes to force misses, and he also showed a knack for intercepting passes to get steals.
Overall, Wagner played well to help his team get a win over Texas. He’ll need to take better care of the basketball and he’ll need to be a more consistent shooter in games, but he is a talented prospect that may have considerable upside, and could be worth a look from NBA teams in the second round range of the 2025 draft.
Texas’ 6-7 sophomore swingman, Devon Pryor had a strong showing in his team’s tough overtime loss to Arkansas. He is a very athletic, energetic player that made some highlight reel-worthy plays in this game, and he also defended well.
Pryor was able to drive off of a screen to score on a thunderous dunk. He excelled as a finisher around the basket, but he also missed on a quick corner three early on. He didn’t seem to make any noteworthy passes, but he dropped an inaccurate pass when cutting to the hoop that led to a turnover.
Also, he was able to get boards on both ends of the floor to chip in on the glass. Pryor also defended very well. He was able to hustle back to block a shot off of a drive out of bounds. He also contested a variety of shots to force misses. Overall, Pryor is an athletic, energetic swingman that excelled at making hustle plays on both ends of the floor. He’ll need to improve his outside shot, but he is a prospect that could end up being a second round pick in a future NBA draft if he can continue to improve and hone his overall game.
Johnell Davis also had a fairly solid showing in his team’s win over Texas. He showed a decent ability to score off the dribble, and he would frequently draw fouls upon his defenders to get to the free throw line. He also was able to make a deep pull-up three, as Davis showed the ability to make pull-up jumpers, but he also struggled to consistently make mid-range jumpers in this game.
He also displayed fairly average playmaking skills. Davis was able to find the open man to notch an assist, but he didn’t seem to get enough assists for a player his size. Davis also was able to get boards on both ends of the floor to chip in on the glass. He also defended well. He would contest threes to force misses. On one play though, he got beat off the dribble to allow a score.
Overall, Davis was able to score the basketball in a variety of ways, and he also defended fairly well. He’ll need to improve his passing skills, but he is a skilled, mobile combo guard that could be an intriguing option for NBA teams to consider in the second round range of the 2025 draft.
Jonas Aidoo also played well in his team’s overtime win over Texas. He did a good job of scoring out of the post, as he showed a knack for making drop step moves to score on smooth jump hooks. He also passed the ball well, as he was able to throw an interior pass to a cutter to notch an assist.
Plus, he also was able to get some rebounds, though it didn’t seem to be nearly enough boards for a player his size. He also defended well. Aidoo was able to block a shot inside and intercept a pass to get a steal. On one play though, he rotated but got beat off the dribble to allow a score. Overall, Aidoo is a tall, mobile big man that can make plays in the interior to help his team on both ends of the floor. He’ll need to extend his shooting range and improve his rebounding, but his low post scoring and defensive skills could enable him to project to be a rotational big man in the NBA.
Kadin Shedrick also played well in his team’s overtime loss to Arkansas. He showed off a variety of scoring skills, and he also shot the ball well from the outside. Shedrick was able to make an open three, as well as a couple of open mid-range jumpers. Plus, he also ran in to score on an athletic tip slam. He also would draw free throws after getting the ball on the move. On one play though, he utilized a pump fake, but missed when posting up.
He also showcased satisfactory playmaking skills. He’s an unselfish player that passed the ball well. He was able to throw an accurate interior pass to a cutter to notch an assist. On the other hand, he was a bit turnover prone. He threw a hasty pass that got intercepted. He also dropped a pass out of bounds that led to another turnover.
Plus, he also rebounded the ball very well. He excelled as a rebounder, and he was able to get multiple boards on both ends of the floor. Also, Shedrick defended well. He showed a knack for rotating to block shots to help his team protect the paint, and he also excelled at contesting shots when defending around the basket. He also managed to deflect a pass out of bounds. However, sometimes he would get beat off the dribble as well as off of cuts, which would lead his team to allow scores at the rim.
Overall, Shedrick had a strong showing in his team’s tough loss to Arkansas. He is an athletic, energetic big man that has been working hard to improve his outside shot, and he is a second round prospect that could end up being a solid rotational big man in the NBA.
Billy Richmond III had his ups and downs in his team’s win over Texas. He showed the ability to make shots off the dribble and from the mid-range. He was able to utilize a crafty Euro-step move to score off the dribble. He also was able to get a running start to score on a quick mid-range jumper. On the downside, he struggled to consistently score off the dribble, as he would sometimes miss due to rushing. He also didn’t take any threes, so he could look to add more range to his shot to improve his floor spacing capabilities.
He also showed off satisfactory playmaking skills. Richmond is an unselfish player that will make the extra pass to find the open man, and he was able to throw a lob pass to a cutter to notch an assist. Another play though, he drove to the hoop but quickly threw an inaccurate pass that went out of bounds.
Also, Richmond did an adequate job of rebounding the basketball, and he was able to get boards on both ends of the floor. He also was able to stay in front of his man and contest a mid-range runner to force a miss, as he generally defended well. Overall, Richmond is a very athletic, energetic swingman that was able to make some plays on both ends of the floor, but he could look to improve his outside shot, and he could be a second round prospect that could project well into a defensive specialist role at the NBA level.
Arthur Kaluma had his ups and downs in his team’s overtime loss to Arkansas. He was able to make shots early on, but he struggled to make them consistently down the stretch. He was at his best when he would look to score on hustle plays, particularly off of cuts. He would make smart cuts to the hoop, and he has a really crafty pump fake that would enable him to score and draw fouls upon his defenders. He also was able to utilize that pump fake to draw free throws when posting up.
Plus, he also used a hesitation move to score off the dribble. However, he tended to miss on tough, contested shots when driving to the hoop, and he also missed all of the threes that he took from beyond the arc.
He also showcased solid playmaking skills. Kaluma is an unselfish player that tended to pass the ball well, as he excelled at making passes off the dribble and finding teammates on the move to set up plenty of scoring chances for his teammates. He also set a solid off-ball screen to help create an open driving lane for a teammate. On one play though, he threw an inaccurate pass that led to an over and back violation.
In addition, Kaluma did a tremendous job of rebounding the basketball. Defensively, he looked to be about average at best. He was able to intercept an errant pass to get a steal. He also contested a three to force a miss. However, he would tend to take bad gambles that would lead him to be out of position, which would lead his team to give up baskets.
Overall, Kaluma didn’t have his best game as he struggled to make shots as well as on the defensive end, but he also passed and rebounded the ball well. He’ll need to improve his outside shot, but he is a second round prospect that may have what it takes to make it to the NBA.
All in all, those are my thoughts on how Tre Johnson and other various prospects fared in this game. Thanks for reading.
