Day 1 Recap of the 2025 Portsmouth Invitational

On Day 1 of the 2025 Portsmouth Invitational, K&D Rounds Landscaping defeated Sales Systems, Ltd., 74-73.

For K& D Rounds Landscaping, Sean Pedulla had 16 points, made 3 threes, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals, and was a +10, as he statistically performed well as a sharpshooter, scorer, rebounder, and defender at this event. Nate Santos had 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists. Jaden Akins had 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. Belmont’s 6-9 forward, Jonathan Pierre had 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists.

For Sales Systems, Ltd., Johnell Davis had 22 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists, was a +27, and he was the standout performer of this match. Also, UC Davis’ 6-3 point guard, Ty Johnson scored 19 points and made 4 threes in this game.

In the second game, the Portsmouth Partnership defeated the Norfolk Sports Club, 101-94.

For the Portsmouth Partnership, Matthew Cleveland scored 20 points, and had 5 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks in this game. Penn State’s 6-1 point guard, Ace Baldwin Jr. scored 10 points, and had 11 assists and 4 steals in this game. East Carolina’s 6-3 point guard, R.J. Felton (cousin of Raymond Felton) scored 22 points and made 4 threes in this game. Oumar Ballo had 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks, and he drew 10 free throws attempts. Tennessee’s 6-4 guard, Jahmai Mashack scored 13 points and had 4 rebounds, and he made all 3 of his three-pointers. Kansas’ Zeke Mayo had 7 points and 6 assists.

For the Norfolk Sports Club, Tamar Bates scored 15 points, made 2 threes, and had 7 assists, and 3 steals. Viktor Lakhin scored 18 points on 8 of 9 shooting, made 2 threes, and had 6 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 2 steals. Boise State’s 6-8 forward, Tyson Degenhart had 18 points on 7 of 9 shooting, had 5 rebounds and 2 steals, and he made all 3 of his threes. Cam Carter scored 16 points and had 5 assists.

There were plenty of standout performers on the first day of the 2025 Portsmouth Invitational, but here are my picks for the 3 Stars of Day 1 of this event.

My Picks for the Three Stars on Day 1 of the 2025 Portsmouth Invitational:

3. Johnell Davis, Sales Systems, Ltd.

It was tough to leave off Tamar Bates, Viktor Lakhin, Tyson Degenhart, and Ty Johnson, but there were only three names available, and the above players is what I went with based on the box scores.

Box score wise, all of the players listed in this article seemed to be the standouts in the first two games at the 2025 Portsmouth Invitational. Thanks for reading.
