Brandon Boston Jr. is an athletic, skilled swingman that can shoot and score the basketball. He is a versatile scorer that has a solid pull-up game, as he especially can knock down mid-range jumpers, and he also thrives at scoring in transition. On the other hand, he will need to extend his shooting range, and he will need to be able to make three-point shots at higher levels to broaden his game offensively.
He also is a good athlete that can make spectacular plays on both sides of the ball, but he will need to be a more focused defender in games. This year, Boston had a disappointing freshman season. He did not shoot the ball well, he especially struggled to make outside shots, and he did seem to show any of the playmaking skills that he displayed in high school. Boston rebounded the ball very well, though. Right now, NBA teams and scouts may be still high enough to project him to be a first round prospect, but don’t be surprised if he goes much lower than expected than draft day.
