Zed Key

Updated on 12/21/24.  Written by Alan Lu.

Height: 6-8
Weight: 250
College: Dayton
Classification: Fifth-Year Senior
Birthdate: 4/4/2002

Projected Draft Range: Likely Undrafted

Pros:

Decent low post scorer
Sets good screens for his teammates on offense
Adequate rebounder
Adequate shot blocker
Has great strength
Solid motor

Cons:

Needs to improve his face-up game
Can struggle to score in traffic
Needs to improve his free throw shooting
Needs to improve his playmaking skills
Not an elite rebounder
Struggles to guard more athletic players
Undersized to play inside
Can struggle against length and athleticism

Summary:

Zed Key is a strong, physical combo forward that is a very good low post scorer on offense.  He scored 20 points in his team’s November 30th win against Duke, and his strong post play proved vital for them down the stretch.  He will need to improve his outside shot and show teams that he can consistently defend upper-echelon opponents.  Currently, he projects to be a borderline second round candidate for the 2025 draft.
