Classification: Fifth-Year Senior
Birthdate: 6/23/2000

Projected Draft Range: Likely Undrafted

Pros:
Decent scorer off the dribble
Adequate playmaker
Adequate rebounder for his size
Decent defender
Good athlete

Cons:
Needs to improve his shooting
Prone to hoisting up questionable shots
Can play too wildly on offense
Needs to improve his decision-making skills
Can be undisciplined defensively

Summary:
Xavier Pinson is a speedy, fleet-footed guard that can put up points in a hurry.  He is a very athletic point guard that can generate plenty of offense when he gets into a rhythm.  On the other hand, he can be too inconsistent with his jump shot, and he can tend to be too turnover-prone in games.  Recently, he transferred to play for New Mexico State. He hasn’t shot the ball particularly well over the years, and he will need to show teams that he can reliably run the point. Currently, he projects to be a borderline second round candidate for the 2023 draft.
