Top Performances on the Second Day of the 2nd Round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament

Here are some of the best performances that happened yesterday in the second round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament.

Marquette’s Tyler Kolek scored 21 points, dished out 11 assists, and hauled in 5 rebounds to lead his team to a close win over Colorado. He put forth a tremendous performance to help get his team the victory in this game.

Duke’s freshman point guard, Jared McCain scored 30 points, made 8 threes, and he had 5 rebounds to lead his team to a blowout win over James Madison.

Kyle Filipowski had 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists, Tyrese Proctor scored 18 points, made 4 threes, and had 5 assists, and Jeremy Roach had 15 points and 6 assists in this game.
Alabama’s 6-1 senior point guard, Mark Sears scored 26 points, and had 12 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals, as he made 5 three-pointers in his team’s win over Grand Canyon, and put forth a fantastic all-around performance to get his team the victory. Grand Canyon’s Tyon Grant-Foster scored 29 points and had 8 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 2 steals in his team’s loss to Alabama.

Purdue’s 7-4 center, Zach Edey continues to be dominant in this tournament, as he scored 23 points and hauled in 14 rebounds in his team’s 106-67 blowout win over Utah State. Trey Kaufman-Renn scored 18 points, and had 8 rebounds and 3 assists in this game.

UConn’s Donovan Clingan had 14 points, 14 rebounds, and 8 blocks in his team’s blowout win over Northwestern. Tristen Newton scored 20 points and had 10 assists in his team’s blowout win over Northwestern. Northwestern’s 6-6 junior swingman Brooks Barnhizer scored 18 points and had 6 rebounds in this game.

Houston’s Jamal Shead scored 21 points and dished out 10 assists, and had 5 rebounds in his team’s narrow win over Texas A&M. Emanuel Sharp scored 30 points and made 7 threes. L.J. Cryer had 20 points and 4 assists. Texas A&M’s Tyrece Radford had 27 points, 15 rebounds, and 6 assists in this game.

Clemson’s Chase Hunter scored 20 points, made 3 threes, and had 6 assists and 2 steals in his team’s win over Baylor. Baylor’s Rayj Dennis scored 27 points and had 6 rebounds, and Ja’Kobe Walter scored 20 points, made 3 threes, and had 6 rebounds in his team’s loss to Clemson.
San Diego State’s Jaedon LeDee scored 26 points, made both of his threes, and had 9 rebounds to lead his team to a blowout win over Yale. For Yale, 7-0 sophomore center, Danny Wolf had 9 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists in his team’s loss to San Diego State.
Marquette’s Kam Jones also scored 18 points and made 5 threes, and Marquette’s 6-5 sophomore guard, Chase Ross added 12 points on 5 of 6 shooting and made both of his threes off the bench. Colorado’s K.J. Simpson had 20 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds in his team’s loss to Marquette. Cody Williams had 12 points, made a three, and blocked two shots off the bench in this game. And while Williams’ performance may not be considered one of the best of last night, it was much better than his First Four performance against Boise State.

- Tyler Kolek, Marquette (21 points, 11 assists, and 5 rebounds in a win over Colorado)
- Jamal Shead, Houston (21 points, 10 assists, and 5 rebounds in an overtime win over Texas A&M)
- Zach Edey, Purdue (23 points and 14 rebounds in a win over Utah State)
