Decent scorer off the dribble
Adequate shooter
Adequate playmaker
Adequate defender that can get steals and blocks
Gifted athlete
May have significant upside

Cons:

Needs to improve his free throw shooting
Can display spotty shot selection
Too ball dominant, Can tend to be a bit of a ball-stopper on offense
Can tend to over-dribble, which can lead to turnovers
Needs to improve his rebounding
Can have lapses defensively

Summary:

Thierry Darlan is a very athletic point forward that has been putting up big numbers in the BAL Qualifiers this season. He is a skilled scorer that likes having the ball in his hands. He can both rise up to score on highlight reel-worthy dunks, and he can shoot it from deep. He is a rangy defender that can make some impressive blocks to prevent opponents from getting easy shots at the rim.

However, he can be prone to taking questionable shots and he doesn’t seem to always give enough effort defensively, as he may allow an opponent to score that otherwise shouldn’t. Still, Darlan is a high upside prospect that could be worth it for NBA teams to give him a look in the late first to the second round range for the 2024 draft.
