Notable Performances of Games at the 2024 Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, and Our Picks for the All-Portsmouth Teams

Tristan Enaruna played very well at the 2024 Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, and his scoring prowess and penchant for winning in these games helped him take home the MVP honors.

Here is a brief summary of what happened in each of the games that took place during the 2024 Portsmouth Invitational Tournament. Also, we will make our picks for the 2024 Portsmouth Invitational Tournament teams, and we will list who the Portsmouth Invitational committee actually picked for their All-Tournament teams. Also, Cleveland State’s Tristan Enaruna helped lead Jani-King to a 3-0 record as he took home the MVP honors at this event. Here are the best performances that happened in yesterday’s Portsmouth Invitational Tournament games.

Game 1:

Jani-King defeated the Portsmouth Sports Club, 85 to 79.

For Jani-King, Cleveland State’s 6-8 forward, Tristan Enaruna scored 25 points in 28 minutes, made two threes and blocked two shots, and he put on a sterling scoring display to help his team get the win. Tolu Smith scored 18 points and had 6 rebounds for Jani-King. In addition, UNLV’s 6-8 forward, Keylan Boone showed off some of his outside shooting skills by making a pair of threes, and he had 10 points and 6 rebounds in this game.

For the Portsmouth Sports Club, St. John’s center, Joel Soriano scored 28 points and had 12 rebounds and also made a three-pointer in his team’s tough loss to Jani-King. In addition, Tyler Burton scored 13 points, and had 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block in this game. Aaron Estrada also scored 13 points, and he had 4 rebounds and 4 assists in this game.

Game 2:

Mike Duman Auto Sales defeated the Norfolk Sports Club, 93-86.

For Mike Duman Auto Sales, Tyrese Samuel had 19 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, and 1 steal, and he also made a three-pointer in his team’s win over the Norfolk Sports Club. Eric Gaines scored 10 points and dished out 10 assists. Jamison Battle scored 12 points and made 3 threes, Isaiah Cozart scored 11 points, and Daniss Jenkins scored 10 points. Though Quincy Guerrier didn’t shoot the ball well, he had 11 rebounds and 3 blocks in this game.

For the Norfolk Sports Club, Washington State’s 6-9 senior forward, Isaac Jones scored 20 points and had 7 rebounds in 21 minutes in his team’s loss to Mike Duman Auto Sales. Quincy Olivari scored 20 points, made 4 threes, and had 8 rebounds in this game. Also, Isaiah Crawford scored 12 points, grabbed 3 offensive rebounds, and blocked 2 shots in this game.

Here are the best performances that happened on Day 2 of the 2024 Portsmouth Invitational Tournament.

Game 3:

Norfolk Sports Club defeated the Portsmouth Sports Club, 92-83.

For the Norfolk Sports Club, Rayj Dennis scored 24 points, dished out 5 assists, and had 3 rebounds and 3 steals to help his team win this game. Kyle Rode scored 19 points and had 2 steals in this game. Isaac Jones scored 15 points on 6 of 8 shooting, and had 6 rebounds and 3 steals in this game. Eric Dixon scored 12 points, made 2 threes, and dished out 4 assists. Will Baker scored 10 points and had 5 rebounds.

For the Portsmouth Sports Club, Aaron Estrada scored 30 points, made 5 threes, and he had 5 assists and 5 rebounds in his team’s loss to the Norfolk Sports Club. Joel Soriano had 15 points and 13 rebounds, Tyler Burton had 12 points and 9 rebounds, and Tyler Wahl had 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Game 4:

Portsmouth Partnership defeated Sales Systems, 96-78.

For the Portsmouth Partnership, Jesse Edwards scored 15 points, and had 9 rebounds and 4 blocks to help lead his team to victory. Malevy Leons scored 10 points and had 10 rebounds, and may have played very good defense in this game. Marcus Domask, DJ Horne, and Sean East II all scored 18 points in this game. Ta’Lon Cooper scored 11 points, made 3 threes, and dished out 2 assists in this game.

For Sales Systems, Riley Minix scored 16 points, made 4 threes, and had 5 rebounds in this game. Max Abmas scored 16 points, made 3 threes, and dished out 3 assists. Jaylin Williams scored 12 points, James Bishop IV scored 11 points, and Vonterious Woolbright had 5 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in this game.

Game 5:

Roger Brown’s Restaurant defeated K&D Rounds Landscaping, 93-66.

Branden Carlson scored 18 points, made 3 threes, and had 5 rebounds to help Roger Brown’s get the win. Boogie Ellis scored 19 points, made 3 threes, and had 7 rebounds and 2 assists in this game. Jahmir Young had 15 points and 6 assists, and Jordan Wright also scored 15 points. Josh Oduro had 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 blocks to help Roger Brown’s get the win in this game.

For K&D Rounds Landscaping, Alex Ducas scored 14 points and made 4 three-pointers in this game. TJ Bickerstaff scored 11 points on 4 of 5 shooting. Donta Scott and Jahvon Quinerly scored 13 points apiece.

Here are the best performances that happened on Day 3 of the 2024 Portsmouth Invitational Tournament.

Game 6:

Sales Systems defeated K&D Rounds Landscaping, 74-61.

For Sales Systems, Jaylin Williams scored 15 points, made 3 threes, and he had 4 rebounds and 3 assists to help his team get the win. James Bishop IV scored 16 points and made threes. Tyrece Radford scored 13 points, made 3 threes, and had 3 rebounds and 3 assists in this game.

For K&D Rounds Landscaping, Donta Scott scored 12 points and had 5 rebounds and 5 assists in this game. RaeQuan Battle scored 17 points and Sam Griffin scored 18 points on 8 of 18 shooting, had 8 rebounds, and played all 40 minutes in this game.

Game 7:

Jani-King defeated Mike Duman Auto Sales, 89-87.

For Jani-King, Tolu Smith scored 18 points and had 16 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks to help his team get the win. Hunter Cattoor scored 16 points and made 4 threes. AJ Hoggard scored 18 points, Tristan Enaruna scored 15 points, and Allen Flanigan also scored 14 points in this game.

For Mike Duman Auto Sales, Eric Gaines scored 20 points and had 4 assists in this game. Jarod Lucas scored 18 points and had 5 rebounds. Santiago Vescovi had 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. Tyrese Samuel had 11 points, and Jamison Battle had 10 points in this game.

Game 8:

Portsmouth Partnership defeated Roger Brown’s Restaurant, 86-80.

For Portsmouth Partnership, Sean East II scored 18 points and had 5 rebounds to help lead his team to get the win. DJ Horne had 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. Malevy Leons scored 12 points, and Ta’Lon Cooper had 11 points and 6 rebounds in this game.

For Roger Brown’s, Josh Oduro scored 21 points and had 8 rebounds in his team’s loss to Portsmouth Partnership. Jahmir Young had 13 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, and 1 block. Boogie Ellis and Enrique Freeman had 11 points apiece, and Jordan Wright scored 10 points in this game.

And lastly, here are the best performances that happened on Day 4 of the 2024 Portsmouth Invitational Tournament.

Game 9:

Portsmouth Sports Club defeated K&D Rounds Landscaping, 80-76.

For the Portsmouth Sports Club, KJ Jones II scored 19 points on 7 of 9 shooting, made 3 threes, and he had 5 steals to help his team get the win. Drew Pember scored 8 points on 3 of 6 shooting and made 2 threes in this game. Aaron Estrada scored 13 points on 5 of 14 shooting, and he had 6 rebounds, but while he had 4 assists and 4 steals, he also committed 8 turnovers in this game. Tyler Burton had 12 points and 6 rebounds, but he made just 4 of 16 of his shots from the field. Shahada Wells scored 15 points on just 6 of 15 shooting and he made just 1 of 6 of his threes in this game. Joel Soriano hauled in 13 rebounds, but he scored 9 points on just 3 of 9 shooting, and committed 7 turnovers.

For K&D Rounds Landscaping, RaeQuan Battle scored 27 points and made 5 threes in this game. Sam Griffin scored 18 points, and Donta Scott had 13 points. TJ Bickerstaff had 8 points on 3 of 4 shooting and had 5 assists and 5 rebounds, but he also committed 5 turnovers. Clarence Daniels had 12 rebounds and 4 assists, but he also committed 8 turnovers, and scored just 7 points on 3 of 8 shooting. Ole Miss’ 7-5 center, Jamarion Sharp had 5 blocks and 4 steals for K&D Rounds Landscaping, but he scored just 3 points and had just 4 rebounds in 26 minutes.

Game 10:

Norfolk Sports Club defeated Sales Systems, 100-69.

For the Norfolk Sports Club, Isaac Jones scored 21 points on 8 of 9 shooting, made his lone three-point shot, and had 9 rebounds to help his team get the victory. Isaiah Crawford scored 10 points on 5 of 6 shooting, had 10 rebounds, and 4 steals. Eric Dixon scored 16 points on 8 of 13 shooting and had 7 rebounds, and he led all players with a +34 in the plus-minus column in this game. Will Baker had 12 points, made one three-pointer, and 8 rebounds in this game. Rayj Dennis scored 12 points on just 4 of 12 shooting, but he also had 8 assists in this game.

For Sales Systems, Riley Minix scored 16 points on 6 of 8 shooting, made 3 threes, and had 5 rebounds and 2 steals in this game. Vonterius Woolbright scored 17 points and had 7 rebounds and 1 block in this game.

Game 11:

Roger Brown’s Restaurant defeated Mike Duman Auto Sales, 86-71.

For Roger Brown’s, Jahmir Young scored 22 points on 9 of 16 shooting, made 3 threes, and he had 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block to help his team get the win. Enrique Freeman had 13 points and 12 rebounds. Boogie Ellis had 10 points on 4 of 10 shooting, and he had 6 rebounds and 6 assists in this game. Branden Carlson scored 11 points, made 2 threes, and had 6 rebounds. Josh Oduro scored 13 points on 6 of 12 shooting in this game.

For Mike Duman Auto Sales, Jamison Battle scored 19 points, made 4 threes, and he had 5 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block in this game. Isaiah Cozart scored 6 points on 2 of 4 shooting, but he also had 12 rebounds and 4 blocks.

Game 12:

Jani-King defeated the Portsmouth Partnership, 75-68. Jani-King wins the 2024 Portsmouth Invitational championship.

For Jani-King, Allen Flanigan scored 10 points, and he had 5 rebounds, 3 steals, and 1 block in this game. Xavier Johnson scored 14 points on 5 of 8 shooting, and he made 4 threes, and had 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal to help his team get the win. Tristan Enaruna scored 10 points on 3 of 9 shooting, and he had 8 rebounds. A.J. Hoggard scored 11 points and had 4 rebounds. Hunter Cattoor had 13 points, made 2 threes, and had 5 rebounds in this game.

For Portsmouth Partnership, Sean East II scored 24 points on 9 of 16 shooting, and he made 2 threes to help his team in this game. Meanwhile, Malevy Leons scored 10 points on 3 of 8 shooting, and had 3 rebounds and 2 blocks. Jesse Edwards scored 9 points on 4 of 5 shooting, and he had 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, and 1 steal in this game.

Tristan Enaruna scored 25 points in the opening game of this event, and he averaged 16.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per game for a 3-0 Jani-King team, as he accumulated a total of a +38 in the three games combined.

Isaac Jones averaged 18.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2 steals per game, and he made a tremendous 79% from the field (he made 23 field goals out of 29 field goal attempts) in the three games he played at this event. He put forth a sterling showing, and he helped Norfolk Sports Club get two wins here.

Jahmir Young averaged 16.7 points, 5.0 assists, 3.3 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and 1 block per game, and he also accumulated an impressive +38 in the three games combined that he played for Roger Brown’s, as he helped them win two of the three games at this event.

Sean East II averaged 20 points per game and made 57% from the field, as he played well in all three of the games at this event, and he helped his team win two of the three games that they played.

Joel Soriano led all scorers with 28 points in the first day, and he averaged 17.3 points and 12.7 rebounds per game, as he made 54% from the field and 75% of his free throws in the three games he played in Portsmouth.
