NBA Scouting Live’s 2025 NBA Mock Draft

June 16th, 2025

by NBA Scouting Live

Hours ago, we conducted a group mock draft for 2025. This time around, we decided to make this a no-trades mock draft. Even though there are only 59 picks this year, with one team forfeiting their picks, we split up the picks to give to each participant.

NBA’s Deputy Commissioner Mark Tatum announced that the Dallas Mavericks earned the right to get the first overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft last month at the NBA Draft Lottery.

Here is the 2025 NBA Mock Draft that we made, with the reasoning listed below.)

NBA Scouting Live’s 2025 NBA Mock Draft (1st Round)

1. Dallas Mavericks (Alan Lu) Cooper Flagg, F, Duke

This is pretty much a no-brainer pick. Flagg is hands down, the consensus number one pick, and he is a do-it-all forward that can step right in right away. He is a tremendously gifted prospect, and he is a highly competitive player that has excellent all-around skills that would make him a terrific player for Dallas to have.

    2. San Antonio Spurs (Richard Lu) Dylan Harper, G, Rutgers

He would be a very good pick for the Spurs here. Harper is a physical, big point guard that is a great downhill driver, and he would add another quality ball handler to create shots and get Wembanyama the basketball. He would pair well with him, and he would give the Spurs another exciting core player.

    3. Philadelphia 76ers (Richard Lu) – V.J. Edgecombe, G, Baylor

Edgecombe is a tremendously athletic player that would give them a strong slashing guard with a defensive edge. He’s also shown marked improvement on his jump shot as the season progressed, so he would be a great pickup for the 76ers.

    4. Charlotte Hornets (Richard Lu) – Derik Queen, F-C, Maryland

Queen is a physical, skilled big man that has very good scoring skills, has the strength to bang inside, and he is a smart, quality passer that has solid court vision. He has the skills to make an immediate impact, and he is a very good prospect that would pair well with LaMelo Ball in Charlotte.

    5. Utah Jazz (Richard Lu) – Ace Bailey, F, Rutgers

Ace Bailey is a very tall, athletic forward that would give the Jazz an exciting scorer and he has significant defensive potential due to his vast skill set. He is a gifted prospect that has tremendous upside, and he would be a great get for the Jazz, especially if he is on the board at 5.

    6. Washington Wizards (Richard Lu) – Khaman Maluach, C, Duke

Khaman Maluach is a very tall, athletic center that has strong interior skills, as he would give them a strong defensive presence in the middle, and he’s shown a promising jump shot on the floor. He projects to be a solid center, as his size, defensive edge, and competitiveness could allow him to pair well with Alex Sarr, Bub Carrington, as well as their other current players on the team such as Khris Middleton and Marcus Smart.

    7. New Orleans Pelicans (Alan Lu) – Tre Johnson, G-F, Texas

Tre Johnson is an athletic, skilled swingman whose smooth shooting and scoring skills would be a significant boost to the Pelicans. He is a high upside prospect that also has shown the ability to be a plus-level playmaker, and Johnson would greatly complement Zion Williamson and Dejounte Murray on the floor.

    8. Brooklyn Nets (Alan Lu) – Egor Demin, G-F, BYU

Egor Demin is a big, ball-handling point forward whose playmaking skills are unparalleled, especially amongst players his size. He’s a rangy, versatile player that can fit any system. He needs to be more consistent with his jump shot, but he is a very skilled, high upside player that could help jump start Brooklyn’s future.

    9. Toronto Raptors (Richard Lu) Carter Bryant, F, Arizona

Carter Bryant is an athletic, energetic swingman that has been one of the fastest risers in the draft. He’s is a smooth shooting forward that projects really well into that 3 and D role, and he is a good athlete that can finish plays above the rim. He’s quite advanced on the defensive end, and he’s got lockdown potential. He’s shown some untapped potential as a scorer, and Bryant is a very promising prospect that could end up being significantly better than he was in college.

    10. Houston Rockets (Alan Lu) – Kon Knueppel, G-F, Duke

Kon Knueppel is a very skilled guard that can really shoot the basketball, and he is a solid playmaker that has some point guard skills. He’s a pure shooter that would help Houston’s offense, and he would strengthen an already solid team out in the West.

    11. Portland Trail Blazers (Richard Lu) Noa Essengue, F, Ratiopharm Ulm (France)

Noah Essengue is a very athletic, high upside forward that has played in some of the toughest professional leagues in basketball. He is an aggressive scorer that can finish plays above the rim, and he is a rangy defender that can guard multiple positions. He’ll need to improve his jump shot, but his intriguing skill set and great potential could enable him to fare really well at the NBA level.

    12. Chicago Bulls (Alan Lu) – Kasparas Jakucionis, G, Illinois

Kasparas Jakucionis is a highly skilled, big point guard that is a crafty offensive player, and he has good court vision combined with smooth scoring skills. He was terrific in the first half of the season, but his play dropped off in the second half, but he’s shown that he could project to be a smart, skilled playmaker that wind up being a very good player in the league.

    13. Atlanta Hawks (Alan Lu) – Asa Newell, F-C, Georgia

Asa Newell is an athletic, energetic big man that has solid interior skills, as he has great length and the instincts to be a very good defender, and he’s shown promise on offense. He’ll need to be a more consistent shooter, but he is a talented prospect that could project to be a very good player in the association.

    14. San Antonio Spurs (Richard Lu) – Danny Wolf, C, Michigan

Danny Wolf is a very skilled big man that has a very good set of offensive skills, as he is a versatile scorer that has a solid shooting touch all the way out to the three-point line, and he is a gifted passer that can rack up assists. He’s a passable defender that can block shots. Wolf is a polished prospect that could step in right away to be a very solid contributor in the league.

    15. Oklahoma City Thunder (Alan Lu) Noah Penda, G-F, Le Mans Sarthe Basket (France)

Noah Penda is a very skilled, versatile swingman that has strong playmaking skills, is a solid defender, and he can score the basketball in a variety of ways. He’s not the flashiest player nor is an explosive athlete, but he is a smart, cerebral playmaker that uses his intellect to make plays on both ends of the floor. He’ll need to be a more consistent outside shooter, but his great basketball IQ and court vision could enable him to be a very solid contributor in the league.

    16. Memphis Grizzlies (Richard Lu) – Nique Clifford, G-F, Colorado State

Clifford is an athletic, skilled swingman that had a tremendous senior season at Colorado State. He’s a versatile scorer that showed marked improvement as both a shooter and scorer, and he also showed off solid playmaking and defensive skills. Clifford is one of the most polished players in this year’s draft, and he is a very underrated prospect that could end up being a very solid player in the NBA.

    17. Minnesota Timberwolves (Alan Lu) – Walter Clayton Jr., G, Florida

Walter Clayton Jr. is a smooth, skilled guard that had an exceptional NCAA Tournament, and he is a highly skilled player that has a solid blend of shooting, scoring, and playmaking skills. He is a polished prospect that can step in right away to contribute, and he is a winner that provide a boost to any team he goes to in the league.

    18. Washington Wizards (Richard Lu) – Jeremiah Fears, G, Oklahoma

Jeremiah Fears is a very athletic, high-upside point guard that could be a really good player in the NBA. He can get to the rim at will, is an exceptional ball handler, and he has the potential to be great. He’ll need to improve his outside shot and take better care of the basketball, but Fears is the best ball handler in the draft, and he has great physical tools, which could enable him to reach a higher ceiling than most prospects in this draft.

    19. Brooklyn Nets (Alan Lu) Liam McNeeley, F, Connecticut

Liam McNeeley is a very skilled forward that had an up and down season, but he was great for stretches. He’s shown the potential to be a very smooth shooter and scorer, and he’s had games where’s he really dominated on offense. However, his play faltered in the second half, as the burdensome workload and fatigue seemed to set in. Still, he has the skills to fit into a supporting role as a sharpshooting forward, especially if he shows better focus and pushes himself to get to that next level.

    20. Miami Heat (Alan Lu) Collin Murray-Boyles, F, South Carolina

It was a bit of a surprise that Murray-Boyles was still on the board, but he basically screams the essence of a true, quintessential Miami Heat type of player if he is still available at 20. Murray-Boyles is an athletic, high-motor combo forward that plays hard all the time, and he’s a rangy defender that will compete and can guard multiple positions. He excels at making hustle plays and has shown improved passing skills. He’ll still need to improve his outside shot, but Murray-Boyles is a hard-nosed player that could end up being a shutdown defender in this league.

    21. Utah Jazz (Richard Lu) – Jase Richardson, G, Michigan State

Jase Richardson is a smooth, athletic sharpshooting guard that will find ways to knock down shots and score the basketball, and he does a good job of playing within the team system. While he may not exactly be a pure point guard or an assist getter, Richardson is a gifted marksman whose ability to make plays on both ends could enable him to be a very solid player in the league.

    22. Atlanta Hawks (Alan Lu) – Drake Powell, G-F, North Carolina

Drake Powell is an athletic, energetic swingman that has shown plenty of promise as a prospect for the NBA. He is a gifted defender that can guard multiple positions, can finish plays above the rim, and has shown some shooting and playmaking skills. He’ll need to be much more assertive on offense, but he is a versatile player that may have the skills to fit and blend in well to any team in the NBA.

    23. Indiana Pacers (Alan Lu) Rasheer Fleming, F, Saint Joseph’s

Rasheer Fleming is a strong, athletic combo forward that can score and rebound the basketball. He has shown the ability to compete and make plays on both ends of the floor, and he could give the Pacers some versatility and a player that could provide an immediate impact in this league.

    24. Oklahoma City Thunder (Alan Lu) – Bogoljub Markovic, F-C, Mega Bemax (Serbia)

The Thunder have looked increasingly likely to be the future NBA champions this year, and there doesn’t seem to be much they would really need at this point. That said, Markovic could be a very intriguing pick for them late in the first round. Markovic is an athletic, skilled big man that can stretch and space the floor, and he is also a good shot blocker. While he will need to add more muscle to his frame, his ability to knock down shots and defend could enable him to be a very solid, versatile role player in the NBA.

    25. Orlando Magic (Alan Lu) – Nolan Traore, G, Saint-Quentin Basketball (France)

With the Magic trading away KCP and Cole Anthony to get Desmond Bane, the Magic could use another ball-handler to add to their team. Traore is a very athletic ball-handler that can get to the rim and distribute the ball to rack up assists. He’ll need to improve his jump shot, but Traore could end up being a solid role player for the Magic, as he could be a very good pick for them if he’s available this late in the draft.

    26. Brooklyn Nets (Alan Lu) – Thomas Sorber, C, Georgetown

Sorber is a physical, mobile big man that would give the Nets a bruising low post presence, and he’s a good passer that has shown both a promising jump shot, and the potential to be a rim protector. He’ll need to continue to refine those skills, but his low post play and passing skills would make him a very intriguing option here, and continued development of his skills could allow him to be a very good player in the NBA.

    27. Brooklyn Nets (Alan Lu) – Hugo Gonzalez, G-F, Real Madrid (Spain)

Gonzalez is an athletic, skilled versatile player that can play multiple positions, and he is a tall ball-handler that can distribute the basketball. He’ll need to be a more consistent outside shooter, but he has played in some of the toughest leagues from around the world, and he is a versatile player that could end up excelling in the league.

    28. Boston Celtics (Richard Lu) – Cedric Coward, G-F, Washington State

Cedric Coward is a very athletic, energetic swingman that projects very well into a 3 and D role in the NBA. He is a smooth scorer that can make shots in a variety of ways, and he has the physical tools to be a very good defender in the league. He’ll need to stay healthy, but he is an intriguing prospect that could end up being one of the best finds in this draft.

    29. Phoenix Suns (Richard Lu) – Ben Saraf, G, Ratiopharm Ulm (Israel)

He is an agile, skilled guard that has strong playmaking skills, and he can score the basketball in a variety of ways. He is a very solid offensive player that has very good court vision, and his blend of basketball IQ and skill set could enable him to be a very good contributor in this league.

    30. Los Angeles Clippers (Richard Lu) – Tyrese Proctor, G, Duke

Proctor is an agile, skilled guard that is a solid marksman, and he can knock down plenty of shots, especially from the outside. His sharpshooting prowess combined with his solid defensive skills and ability to play either backcourt position could enable him to be one of the most polished players in this draft. While he may not exactly be likely to be an assist collector, Proctor is a gifted shooter that could provide an immediate impact in the league.
