Height: 6-3
Weight: 195
College: Butler
Classification: Junior
Birthdate: 8/25/1999

Projected Draft Range: Mid to Late 1st Round

Pros:

Very good shooter, especially from deep
Crafty scorer off the dribble
Prolific scorer
Decent playmaker
Adequate rebounder for his size
Fairly good defender
Solid athlete

Cons:

May lack an elite first step off the dribble
Can be too scoring focused on offense
Can be careless on offense, which can lead to turnovers
Can be undisciplined defensively
Not a true point guard, but is undersized to play the two

Summary:

Jared Butler is an agile, skilled point guard that can shoot and score the basketball.  He is having a terrific junior season, and he had a dominant, 30-point, 8 assist performance in which he made 7 threes in a win over Kansas on January 18th.

He’s not an explosive athlete, but he gets to where he needs to with the basketball.  Butler’s strong offensive skills, combined with his high basketball IQ and solid defensive play could enable him to be a good value pick for a team in the mid first round range of the 2021 draft.
