Birthdate: 7/24/2002

Projected Draft Range: 2nd Round to Undrafted

Pros:

Decent scorer off the dribble
Solid playmaker
Solid defender that can get steals
Solid athlete

Cons:

Needs to improve his shooting
Prone to hoisting up questionable shots
Struggles to guard quicker players
A bit undersized for his position

Summary:

Jamal Shead is an athletic, skilled point guard that can reliably run the team at the point.  He led the Houston Cougars to get to the 2022 NCAA Tournament, and he scored 21 points and dished out 6 assists in his team’s surprising win over Arizona in the Sweet 16.  He is an underrated prospect that could be a player to watch for the 2023-24 college basketball season.
