Jacob Young

Updated on 6/26/22.  Written by Alan Lu.
2022 Rankings were finalized on 6/23/22.

Height: 6-2
Weight: 185
College: Oregon
Classification: Sixth-Year Senior
Birthdate: 9/21/1997

Projected Draft Range: 2nd Round to Undrafted

Pros:
Decent scorer off the dribble
Adequate playmaker
Adequate defender
Adept at collecting steals
Good athlete

Cons:
Needs to improve his shooting
Can play too wildly on offense
Needs to improve his rebounding
Can be unfocused defensively
A bit undersized for his position
Old for a draft prospect, may have limited upside

Summary:
Jacob Young is an athletic, skilled playmaker that had a good senior season this year at Rutgers.  He didn’t post great shooting percentages when he was at Texas or last year, but he excelled as a shooter and scorer this past season, though he was fairly turnover prone on offense.  Currently, he projects to be a borderline second round candidate in the 2022 draft.
