Summary:
Harold Yu is a very tall center that played high school ball at Sierra Canyon before playing in China this past season. He put up solid numbers in China’s top professional league, the CBA, and his inside scoring and rebounding skills have helped him emerge this year.
On the other hand, he’s not very mobile or fast, and he’s a classic, back-to-the-basket center whose limitations may make it difficult for him to make the transition to the modern NBA game. He doesn’t have great foot speed or mobility, and he often struggles to get up and down the court or to make quick rotations defensively. He has trouble guarding shooters or perimeter players on pick and roll plays, which can put his team at a significant disadvantage defensively. Currently, he is a long shot to be drafted, and most likely, he will continue to have a solid playing career in international basketball.
