Summary:
Franz Wagner is an athletic, skilled swingman that can shoot and pass the basketball. As he is the younger brother of Moritz Wagner, Franz Wagner played very well in his role overseas in the BBL in Germany as well as in the Eurocup prior to enrolling at Michigan to play in college basketball.
Wagner had a good sophomore season, and he showed a solid set of all-around skills this year. He led his team to 11 straight wins to start the year, as his team collected wins over Minnesota, Northwestern, and Wisconsin. He scored 13 points, and had 10 rebounds and 5 assists in his team’s impressive Sweet 16 win over Florida State. On the downside, he shot the ball poorly in a loss to UCLA in the Elite Eight. Regardless, Wagner is an skilled, versatile forward that currently projects to be a lottery pick in the 2021 draft.
