Summary:

David Roddy is a strong, mobile forward that has been having a very good junior season at Colorado State.  He is a physical specimen that will outwork his opponents to score and grab rebounds in the paint, and he plays taller than his listed height.  He also is an unselfish player that can pass and handle the ball, and he will make solid reads to get some assists.

On the downside, he’s basically undersized big man that doesn’t have the ideal height to play inside, and he doesn’t have elite quickness nor has shown enough consistency with his outside shot over the years to suggest he can reliably play out on the perimeter on a full-time basis.  Still, it’s hard to ignore his strong production this year, and his intriguing, atypical skill set could make him an interesting option for NBA teams to consider in the second round of the 2022 draft.
