Height: 6-5
Weight: 195
College: North Carolina
Classification: Sixth-Year Senior
Birthdate: 10/26/1998

Projected Draft Range: 2nd Round to Undrafted

Pros:

Decent shooter
Decent scorer off the dribble
Excels at scoring on off-ball motion plays
Can post up smaller players
Decent playmaker
Moves well off the ball on offense
Adequate rebounder for his size
Decent defender

Cons:

Struggling with his jump shot this season
Lacks an elite first step off the dribble
Unselfish to a fault
Struggles to guard quicker players
Only an average athlete
A bit undersized to play out on the wing
Old for a draft prospect, may have limited upside

Summary:

Cormac Ryan is a smart, skilled combo guard that can shoot and score the basketball.  He made 7 threes in his team’s first round win over Rutgers in the 2022 NCAA Tournament, and he thrived as a sharpshooter and scorer for his team in that game.  He was productive in his role at Notre Dame, and he then transferred to North Carolina. Despite struggling with his jump shot this year, he is a skilled marksman that may project well into a shooting specialist role in the NBA.
