Charles Bassey is an athletic, high motor big man that could project to be a solid rim protector in the NBA. He is a very efficient inside scorer that can finish plays above the rim, and he also can get rebounds and blocks at high rates.
He reclassified to be in the 2018 recruiting class, and he had a solid freshman season. After having a promising sophomore season, Charles Bassey injured his left knee against Arkansas, and ended up missing the rest of the season.
This year, Bassey had a good junior season. Early on, he scored 21 points, and had 14 rebounds and 7 blocks in his team’s upset win over Memphis, and he also had 13 points, 15 rebounds and 5 blocks against Louisville. His draft stock has climbed all the way back to where it pretty much was when he was a freshman, and he could be a solid pick for an NBA team in the first round of the 2021 draft.
