Charles Bassey is an athletic, high motor big man that could project to be a solid rim protector in the NBA. He is a very efficient inside scorer that can finish plays above the rim, and he also can get rebounds and blocks at high rates.
He reclassified to be in the 2018 recruiting class, and he had a solid freshman season. He struggled significantly in the lone combine scrimmage game that he played in, and his stock had tumbled to the point where he was not considered a lock to be drafted, despite having entered college as a highly touted recruit.
After having a promising sophomore season, Charles Bassey injured his left knee against Arkansas, and ended up missing the rest of the season. He will need to make a full recovery and show that he can both return to form and stay healthy. Currently, he projects to be a second round prospect for the 2021 NBA Draft.
