Summary:
Yoan Makoundou is a very athletic, high-motor big man that may project to be a defensive specialist in the NBA. He is a high-flyer that excels at throwing down powerful dunks around the basket, and he also is an active rebounder and defender that has shown the capacity to guard multiple positions.
On the other hand, he’s not a very polished offensive player, as he doesn’t really have a consistent outside shot or much of a dribble game, and it has been rare for him to pick up assists at the higher levels of international basketball. Currently, Makoundou projects to be a second round prospect in the 2022 draft.
